Rachel Mullins

Rachel is dancing this year because “the mission of the Y is close to my heart, as it is very similar to ours at NorthShore!  I love that the Y is focused on nourishing the youth in the community regardless of their income and backgrounds, as they really are the future of our communities, and it is important to invest in them and make sure they have as solid of a start in life as possible.” She is the Chief Operating Officer of Northshore Health Centers and enjoys hanging out with her favorite nephew, Cooper in her free time. She also loves traveling and going on camping trips with my two pups Bruce (Boston Terrier mix) and Wayne (Chiweenie).

Eric Camel

Eric Camel

Eric is a Chesterton native and works as the Chesterton Town of Chesterton Fire Chief. Eric is dancing to help the Y raise funds for the scholarship fund because he believes it is important to support the Y’s cause and together, we can raise funds to support our local Y! Eric is committed to caring about the residents of his community through his job and his community affiliation. Eric is married to his wife Sarah and has two girls Anna and Nora.

Vern Brown & Nikki Grass

Vern Brown & Nikki Grass

Vernon and Nikki own and operate Chesterton Brewery, a family restaurant, and Duneland Distillery, located in Chesterton. Vernon and Nikki are dancing because “the YMCA does so much for our community”. They are passionate about giving back to both veterans and first responders in need through their restaurants. They have allocated all the money raised through their dance to help provide free and subsidized memberships to both active-duty veterans and the family members of those in need.

Scott & Maura Mundell

Meet the Dancer

Scott & Maura Mundell

Scott works for Franciscan Health as the Director of Business Development of Northern Indiana and also serves on the Duneland Family YMCA’s Board of Directors. Scott has been attending Dancing like the Stars for several years, but never envisioned himself as a dancer. He says, “I don’t dance, and that will likely be painfully obvious to everyone.” Despite his dancing skills (or lack thereof), Scott is ultimately dancing because the money raised from the event helps a great organization. In addition to volunteering at the Y, Scott is also involved with Rebuilding Together-Duneland and Chesterton High School Wrestling. He lives in Chesterton with his Wife, Maura and has two daughters; Alison and Hailey, a stepdaughter; Molly, and a stepson; Connor.

Jessica Amling

Meet the Dancer

Jessica Amling

If you’ve attended a Zumba or BodyPump group exercise class at the Y, you might recognize Jessica! Jessica has been teaching group exercise at the Y for over 3 years and is honored to represent the Y in the 2021 Dancing Like the Stars event. Jessica says “the members and staff at the Duneland Y hold a special place in my heart. I am dancing because the event is so much fun, and to support ALL the amazing programs the Y has to offer.” In addition to teaching classes at the YMCA, Jessica works as the office manager for Angelcrest, Inc., in Valparaiso and volunteers on several boards at her church. In her spare time, she enjoys being the best aunt she can be to her niece, Harper, and having fun with her family and friends. Fitness is Jessica’s main hobby, but she also enjoys bike riding and participating in local races and obstacle courses. She has completed 1 RAGBRAI, 3 Hilly Hundred’s, 3 Tough Mudder’s, and 1 Half Marathon, and is excited to add Dancing Like the Stars to that list!

Jamie Baczkowski

Meet the Dancer

Jamie Baczkowski

Jamie is a lifelong Chesterton resident and no stranger to the YMCA! As the Senior Account Manager at Trinity Displays in Chesterton, Jamie enjoys taking BodyPump Group Exercise classes at the Y. She is married to Tomasz and has two boys, Romeo and Sebastian, who enjoy attending Y programs like summer camp. Jamie is dancing to raise money for her fellow community members so that everyone is able to afford childcare and a healthy lifestyle.

Kristin Morris

Kristin Morris

Kristin is the Music Department Chair and Choral Director at Chesterton High School. Kristin is Dancing for the YMCA because “it is an incredible organization that provides for all ages of our community.” Kristin lives in the Duneland Community with Ollie, her Boston Terrier, and strives every day to provide as many experiences and opportunities for her students as possible while striving to help them achieve anything they set their minds to.
