Youth Martial Arts
Youth Martial Arts at the YMCA –
Confidence, Respect & Leadership in Every Class
Looking for a fun and meaningful activity that helps your child grow? Our Youth Martial Arts program is more than just kicks and punches—it’s about building strong minds, kind hearts, and future leaders.
Led by Master Chris Haleva, 5th-degree black belt and head instructor of Midwest Martial Arts, our classes focus on helping kids develop confidence, discipline, and real-world leadership skills in a safe, supportive, and family-friendly environment.
We teach and live by the Five Tenets of Taekwondo: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit.
These values are at the heart of every class and help children succeed both on the mat and in everyday life.
What your child will gain:
-
Confidence to speak up and stand tall
-
Leadership development through responsibility and teamwork
-
Respect for themselves and others
-
Age-appropriate self-defense and safety skills
-
Better focus, coordination, and physical fitness
No experience needed—just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn! Join us at the Duneland YMCA and watch your child grow stronger, kinder, and more confident with every class.
Youth Martial Arts classes are held at the YMCA Healthy Living Campus in room C142.
Class will run on a monthly basis with a maximum of 4 classes per month.
