POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Early Childhood Director is responsible for leading and expanding high-quality youth development initiatives, including our Forchetti Family YMCA Center for Early Learning and our Half Day Preschool programs located in the DSC Trojan Learning Center. This role develops and implements strategic practices that foster growth, ensure excellence in program delivery, and strengthen community partnerships.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.. Manages, directs, and coordinates the early learning education programs for assigned location(s). Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities. Expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.

2. Manages and maintains enrollment for assigned locations.

3. Monitors daily operations, assures compliance with all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations and conducts and ensures proper maintenance of equipment.

4. Recruits and hires a diverse teaching staff team. Onboard and develop team members for success. Ensure ongoing evaluation, training, and development of teaching staff.

5. Models’ relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with state regulatory agencies, families, school administration, advisory board, and community partners. Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.

6. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.

7. Develops, manages, and controls budgets related to the Center. Ensures the Center operates within budget. Supports and budgets for healthy eating through coaching, mentoring, and monitoring menu quality.

8. Maintains proper records and department files.

9. Creates a safe environment in which all participants feel welcomed and respected.

10. Follow CACFP and State guidelines according to health, safety, required postings, and administration of program.

11. Monitor the daily operation of the CACFP Program, including, but not limited to point of service, meal service sanitation, etc.

12. Obtain and maintain required training for YMCA, CACFP, State License guidelines, and accreditation guidelines.

13. Monitor KPIs to assess performance and identify improvements.

14. Follow emergency procedures and safety precautions. Follow procedures for reporting all accidents, incidents, and hazards.

15. Adhere to all policies, rules, and regulations as outlined in employee handbook and other communications. Obtain and maintain required training(s)

16. Provides staff leadership for the annual fund-raising campaign and committees as assigned.

17. Lead, achieve, and maintain program quality standards by ensuring the Early Childhood program attains and sustains Indiana Paths to Quality (PTQ) Level 4 and national accreditation. This includes overseeing initial achievement, annual renewals, ongoing compliance, documentation, staff training, and continuous quality improvement efforts required to meet and exceed all standards.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Duneland Family YMCA is seeking a Business Office HR Assistant to provide daily Human Resources support. This position supports the mission of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the direction of the Director of Finance and Administration, the HR Assistant is responsible for maintaining accurate employee records, supporting onboarding and new employee orientation, assisting with payroll records, and managing confidential filing and documentation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Support the onboarding process for all new employees, including new hire paperwork, orientation coordination, and timely enrollment in benefits when applicable.
2.Set up access to YMCA Purchasing Group (YPG) and Amazon Business accounts for Directors, in coordination with leadership (credit cards issued separately).
3.Support employee offboarding processes, including documentation, system updates, and record retention.
4.Coordinate CPR certification tracking and documentation for staff.
5.Assist with New Employee Orientation (NEO) scheduling, materials, and recordkeeping.
6.Manage accident and incident report documentation and filing; coordinate with leadership on Workers’ Compensation–related cases as needed.
7.Process and track all employee status changes (hires, terminations, promotions, pay changes, transfers), ensuring accurate and timely entry by the MSO with correct allocations.
8.Assist with payroll preparation and review by maintaining accurate employee start/end dates, pay rates, and allocation information; communicate changes promptly to payroll leadership.
9.Respond to daily Human Resources inquiries from employees and supervisors, escalating or collaborating with leadership when necessary.
10.Maintain all HR-related filing and confidential employee records in compliance with YMCA policies and applicable regulations.
11.Prepare and distribute employee data reports as requested by Directors and leadership.
12.Assist with employee disciplinary documentation and write-ups, under the guidance and oversight of leadership.
13.Draft and distribute employee-wide communications and mass emails as needed.
14.Complete other administrative tasks.
15.Participate in staff meetings and/or related meetings.

Lifeguard Responsibilities:

Swim Instructor Responsibilities:

Position Summary
We are looking for enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our aquatics team as Swim Instructors. In this role, you’ll teach children basic swimming skills and water safety in a fun and supportive environment.
No prior teaching experience is required — we provide training and mentorship to help you succeed.

Responsibilities:

• Instruct swimmers of all ages and skill levels following YMCA swim lesson curriculum
• Create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe learning environment
• Monitor participants to ensure safety and respond to emergencies as needed

We’re hiring enthusiastic, positive site instructors for our Out of School Learning (OOSL) program. Instructors will provide a fun and positive experience to youth in our local schools while leading them through structured activities such as homework time, gym time, and fun social interaction. Instructors must be able to work Monday-Friday one or both shifts: Before school care is from 5:55 am – 8:15 am; After school care is from 1:45 pm – 6:00 pm.
