Welcome to the Duneland Family YMCA

At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. The Duneland Family YMCA is in your community to nurture the potential of every child and teen, to improve health and well-being, and to give back and provide support to our neighbors.

The Y is for everyone. Our programs, services and initiatives: enable kids to realize their potential, prepare teens for college, offer ways for families to have fun together, empower people to be healthier in spirit, mind and body, prepare people for empowerment, welcome and embrace newcomers and help foster a service ethic. That's just the beginning.

MAKE AN IMPACT! Become a Volunteer Tutor! Research proves that caring volunteers working with students of all ages have the power to help kids boost academic achievement and put young people on track for a bright future. That’s why the Duneland Family YMCA before and after Child Care program is looking to recruit new volunteer tutors to donate their time to help students in our programs to improve their academic understanding and performance. Opportunities are available for people who can tutor students in a variety of subjects, but especially in Literacy and Math. Are you ready to become a volunteer? After signing up, you will be asked to go through a background check. Call (219) 921-0183 to Sign up today.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER READER TODAY! Make an impact! Volunteer readers can provide a positive reading experience for children, as well as modeling reading aloud for future readers. Volunteer readers show children just how much fun reading can be, and provide helpful tips for getting children excited about books. If you love working with kids, you may be interested in helping with our program for children ages 0-5. There are opportunities to help Monday through Friday at our program site. Activities include reading, arts and crafts, play time and organizing our kid’s libraries. The Early Childhood Program is designed to provide an environment that is safe, caring, and respectful of each child and his or her family while supporting each child’s unique developmental growth. This program is dedicated to quality child care by providing young children with creative learning experiences rooted in early childhood theory and practice. Are you ready to become a volunteer?
