The Duneland Family YMCA’s Member of the Month is designed to help you get to know the members that help make our Y community great. This month, we’re introducing Ashley Crothers who has continually been a loyal Y member. Let’s get to know her!

  • Tell us a little bit about yourself: what are some fun facts about you?
    • I’m a mom of 4. I’ve worked with animals for over 20 years. I love hiking, camping, going to the beach, and everything that has to do with summer. I’m involved in my church, Crosspointe, and you’ll usually find me at some sporting event with my kids!
  • What types of fitness/ training/ exercise do you enjoy the most? 
    • I really enjoy group fitness classes, BODYPUMP, Spin, and the HIIT classes are a great workout, and the instructors are super encouraging. I also enjoy running outside and weight lifting.
  • Which fitness classes do you participate in?
    • On Tuesdays and Thursdays I do HIIT, and on Mondays and Wednesdays I do BODYPUMP, but I change up my schedule as the school schedules change for my kids.  
  • What is your favorite part of the Duneland Family YMCA?
    • Community! The “everyone in” approach. I love seeing young kids in the facility and seeing seniors able to get a workout in. The younger people can learn from the older/more experienced lifters. The Kid’s Zone has always been very welcoming to my kids!
  • Why is the Duneland Family YMCA your preferred gym?
    • They have The Kid’s Zone, and my kids can run in the open gym and play basketball during slower times.  I love the outdoor pool in the summer, the challenging classes, and it just feels like family.
